We walked a stone dust loop trail that circled an open field. The west side of the loop ran along side the Connecticut River, though you couldn't really see the river through the walls of trees in between. We were able to take a side trail that led directly to the river. All in all we walked about a mile here. There are some other trails that we did not explore.

This was a nice walk through a beautiful campus. There are actually walking trails open to the public here. This college actually has a published dog policy. It's pretty standard, they must be leashed and you have to pick up after them. We first walked the "Upper Lake Loop", a stone dust trail around Upper Pond. We took a picture on the dock that sticks out into the pond. After the photo, Lexi walked to the side of the dock and looked down, and I knew what she was thinking. I told her "Do not jump into the pond", but she proceeded to jump into the pond! She didn't realize that the water was deep and had to swim. She tried to get back up on the dock, and I had to hoist her up by her leash. There's a dam and a waterfall, and when we took photos near the waterfall, Lexi stuck in her face in some brush and came out covered in small prickers. I wound up spending about 10 minutes picking them out of her fur! Lexi had quite the adventure! After the walk around the pond, we explored the rest of the campus, which was very nice. We stopped a few times because students wanted to pet the dogs. Lexi took complete advantage of this, and rolled on her back so that the complete strangers would rub her belly! Lexi was in rare form today. Toward the end of the walk, we headed across the street to the Village Commons, before wrapping up our 3.6 mile walk on a beautiful afternoon.

This is a retail area with a small "common" across the street from Mount Holyoke College. We walked through here quickly at the end of our college walk.
