This park straddles the border between North Haven and Wallingford. We hiked a short loop trail that meanders through the woods near the highway. When we were there, people were ice-fishing. There was also a lot of sledders utilizing the big hill.

We hiked the 1.1 mile "blue loop" trail that circles "Moss Rock". The trail featured a very steep climb in the beginning, but the rest of it was more level and the decline was gradual. There is an extensive network of trails here, but since this was the second stop of the day, we only hiked the short loop trail.

This is a newer trail, on town land. There appears to be another trail area called "Fresh Meadows", that is maintained by Wallingford Land Trust and not related to this parcel. Anyway, "Fresh Meadow" consists of four different short trails, we didn't do the "Cheshire Road Trail" that is across the street from the other three. The Pond Trail is a super short spur off of the Butterfly Meadow Loop Trail. These are completely flat stone dust trails through a meadow. The third trail is called "Tessa's Trail", and climbs a hill. At the top of the hill, there is a stone fireplace area with two wicker chairs. This spot overlooks a golf course just beyond the property.

We started our adventure for the day here. This is a nice town park with athletic fields and playgrounds. Our original plan was to explore this park, and then walk over to the downtown area, but instead we wound up going over to the boarding school, before returning here.

This is a college-prep boarding school with a beautiful campus. It must have been spring break, because there was no signs of students anywhere. It was deserted, other than a few other dog walkers. The campus is pretty large, combined with nearby Doolittle Park, we walked almost five miles on a sunny and brisk day. See if you can spot the photobomb in one of the pictures below.

This was a walk through Wallingford Center. We had planned to do this the day before, but never got there. We started on North Main Street, and explored the area around the town hall, before heading down Center Street. We passed a number of eclectic little shops, my favorite being the video rental store that actually still rents out movies on VHS and Beta! We continued past the small Railroad Park in front of the old railroad station, before following Hall Avenue to Community Lake Park. From there, we walked down River Road to Quinnipiac Street, which we followed back into town, passing the Wallingford Dog Park and the small Wallace Park on the way. Our walk was three and a half miles total on a sunny and cool late winter afternoon.

We visited this park as part of our Wallingford Center adventure. We had actually been here once before. This is the starting point for the Quinnipiac River Trail that we walked back in 2020. The park has access to the "lake", as well as some athletic fields, a picnic pavilion and playgrounds.
