This is part of the longer Empire State Trail. We walked two distinct sections on this day. From the parking area, headed south, the trail runs between the Hudson River and I-787 as it heads into Colonie. North of the parking area, the trail passes under the highway and runs between the west side of the highway and Broadway. There are picnic tables and a small grassy area near the parking area, but there was also a fair amount of trash all over the place (despite the readily available garbage bins). On the way back from the section along Broadway, we walked a block over to check out some small parks, but signs indicated that dogs were not allowed in any of the city parks.

This is a short paved trail that connects the Mohawk Hudson Bike Hike Trail in Watervliet to the Schuyler Flatts Cultural Park in Colonie. The "Welcome To Watervliet" sign isn't on the trail, but it's at the corner of the park's access road and Route 32, right on the town line.
